BENEFITING: Carlow University
ORGANIZER: The Project to End Human Trafficking
The Project to End Human Trafficking (PEHT) is a non-profit organization managed entirely by volunteers. Founded in 2004, our main office is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we have a chapter in Washington D.C. and a sister office in Mokono Uganda.
PEHT works toward the prevention and elimination of trafficking in persons through awareness raising, direct service coordination, capacity building and collaboration with key stakeholders. While our primary operations, such as direct services to victims and survivors, are based locally in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, our educational outreach and coalition building efforts stretch to a national and global scale.
In December myself and a small team of volunteers will be traveling to Uganda to continue the work that Dr. Mary Burke started several years ago. I will be going as a volunteer and as a photographer in order to document our on the ground efforts in Mukono and the surrounding areas. Since we an entirely volunteer based organizaiton we are now raising funds to support our educational outreach, awareness trainings as well as the development of and support of exisitng anti-trafficking NGOs in Uganda. Please consider contributing to this campaign - every dollar that you donate will go towards our on the ground efforts this December!!
(we pay for our own flights, transportation, food, lodging etc)
Uganda Branch Development
The Project to End Human Trafficking is asking for your help in order to continue developing our branch in Mukono, Uganda! Building upon existing relationships with survivors of human trafficking and local NGOs these individuals need our continued support. PEHT and our team of volunteers offer awareness training, technical assistance, educational funding, and supplies to community leaders who are acting locally to combat human trafficking. In addition, our prevention work involves supporting efforts that reduce risk factors including, but not limited to, the building of schools, education for young girls and community outreach.
Every single dollar counts and is guaranteed to help make a real difference in these peoples' lives.
