BENEFITING: American Red Cross
EVENT DATE: Dec 31, 2012
Everyone knows December is all about the holidays, too many fruit cakes, and those AWFUL holiday sweaters your Grandma Nadine knitted for you in the 80s and still insists you wear every year. No one wants to make their Me-Maw unhappy. Wear the damn sweater, throw back some eggnog, and pray that nobody tags photos of you the next day on Facebook.
So what am I getting at? I just totally made up Ugly Sweater December, a sponsored, month-long event dedicated to the ugly holiday sweater. Wear it like a badge of honor and raise some money! Also, I can't promise anything, but I may even involve some glitter.
How does it work? I'm going to wear an ugly sweater every single day of December. I'm going to professionally photograph this process. You know, swimsuit calendar style, but with sweaters, and for 31 days instead of 12 months. I'll blog this process at lindseysmolensky.com. Donate money to help keep me motivated. I'M GONNA NEED A LOT OF MOTIVATION, PEOPLE. And the more you give, the better you'll feel about yourself. All of your kindly donated money will be given to The Red Cross to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The Northeast is cold this time of year, and I bet some of those victims would love to buy themselves an ugly sweater, or five. Or maybe some food. That's all in the hands of The Red Cross.
Also! If you're afraid of giving money on the Internet to a crazy woman with bad fashion sense, I will be accepting clothing donations for a local Houston organization: Star of Hope. They are in desperate need of: coats, jackets, scarves, warm gloves & hats, and blankets during these winter months. Please send clothing/blanket donations to:
