BENEFITING: Flatwater Foundation
EVENT DATE: Sep 02, 2015
Ultimate SUPPORTER Challenge
In September of 2015, The Flatwater Foundation will be taking paddling and fundraising to a whole new level. The Foundation will be taking a small group of our most dedicated supporters to The Netherlands (yes, The Netherlands!) to experience the grueling SUP 11-City Tour challenge. This route covers 136 miles in 5 days, making it by far the longest SUP event in the world. Five straight days of paddling, a mental challenge like none other. WHY? To raise money to pay for mental health support for individuals and families touched by cancer.
The route follows narrow canals through “the pearls of Friesland,” historical cities built from the 1700s. When we aren't ducking our heads to pass beneath bridges, we will take in countryside views of windmills, open pastureland with sheep, cows, and horses, and forests.
Every day will be an intense challenge of non-stop paddling to SUPport those coping with cancer, to honor those navigating a recent diagnosis and to remember those that we have lost.
Miles paddled per day:
Day 1: 26.5
Day 2: 28
Day 3: 26
Day 4: 26.5
Day 5: 16.5
Each Ultimate SUPPORTER Challenger will be required to raise a minimum of $10,000. Monies raised will go directly to The Flatwater Foundation. The Flatwater Foundation is dedicated to providing those diagnosed with cancer, their families and loved ones access to mental health therapy and family support. This includes access to both traditional and non-traditional methods of psychological counseling.
Enabling those in need to “Live Inspired. Feel Empowered.”
What impact will $10,000 have?
$10,000 will provide over 2 years (at once a week) of life changing/saving therapy for an individual in need.
$10,000 will provide a year and a half (at once a week) of life changing/saving therapy for a family in need.
Please consider donating to this event and changing a life.
