BENEFITING: IT AINT CHEMO INC
EVENT DATE: Jul 17, 2015
I'm participating in my 11th Ragnar Relay on July 17th and 18th - Ragnar Relay Northwest Passage. This year I am running it Ultra style with 6 runners instead of 12. As a team, we will run 200 miles from Blaine, Washington to Langley, Washington. Last year was the first time I participated in this fundraiser, and as soon as I heard they were doing it again - it was easy decision to raise more money! I feel strongly about this cause as I have lost my dad and my father-law to cancer.
It Ain't Chemo is a volunteer run organization with no paid employees. They provide support and comfort items (blankets, chemo hats, books, DVD players, DVDs, and toys for children) to patients undergoing chemo. Some of the services they provide are: meals for patients or their families during treatment, rides to get patients to and from their treatments, and gift cards for gas expenses or food.
I feel like running a few miles (35 or so) will be an easy way to help out and pay it forward.
