UMiami Ocean Awareness Week 2016
Organized by: Katie Kubicki
Ocean Awareness Week (OAW) is an annual event held at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Our mission is to spread awareness on campus and in South Florida about pressing ocean conservation issues. 2016's Ocean Awareness Week will be held April 4th - 10th. The theme of the year is "Seas the Day: seven seas, one world, our responsibility".
Go to (and Like!) OAW's Facebook page for more information and the week's schedule of events.
We will be donating all profits from the week to Beneath the Waves, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded by UM alumnus Dr. Austin Gallagher. Beneath the Waves, Inc. is a global platform that raises awareness regarding critical marine issues, fosters the advancement of science, and promotes the protection of our oceans. You can learn more about Beneath the Waves, participate in its international film festival, support the non-profit directly and more at beneaththewaves.org.
**Update (4/18/16): The raffle has CLOSED and winners have been drawn. We are still accepting donations of goodwill though!**
