BENEFITING: UMOJA STUDENT DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
EVENT DATE: Oct 12, 2014
Help us raise money by running in the Chicago Marathon on October 12th in support of Umoja Student Development Corporation. Every donation counts! With your support we can prepare more low-income students across Chicago for success in college and beyond. Your donations will help change thousands of lives this year in our partnerships this year with 10 Chicago public high schools and young-serving organizations.
For more than 15 years, Umoja has partnered with students, teachers, administrators and schools to increase graduation rates, reduce violence, and equip students for postsecondary success. Umoja’s model is designed to meet the social-emotional needs of students, create a safe and restorative climate and intentionally connect students’ investment in their education to their future aspirations and opportunities. Umoja’s programming emphasizes three core areas of student development— college & career readiness, social & emotional learning, and restorative justice.
