EVENT DATE: Oct 12, 2013
The workshop that is going to take place is a great opportunity for 8 students of the Städtische Gymnasium in Hennef/Germany to meet with Friends of the Earth Middle East staff members from Israel, Palestine and Jordan to share their views and visions for environmental peacekeeping around the Dead Sea. Explaining the common dependancy on natural resources and a healthy environment is the goal to help understand the need for promoting the cooperation between societies and nations in this area of permanent conflict. On this upcoming weekend, the students will learn about the techniques in purifying water, mudbuilding and solar energy. They will build up a solar cooker and cook their meals on it. The workshop will prepare the students for their trip next year to the 3 Ecoparks around the Dead Sea, Ein Gedi, Sharhabil Bin Hasneh and Auja. They will meet with their fellow israeli, palestinian and jordanian counterparts and work together on a project in a local community down there, whether it will be the installation of a small desalination unit or helping build up a visitor center in Ein Gedi...
FOR THIS PURPOSE THE STUDENTS NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Any kind of help (not only financial) or advice is most welcome. Thank you!
