Unborn Hazel Grace
Organized by: Storm Dancer
I am trying to raise money to support my 18 year old daughter who is pregnant with my first Grand child. My daughter is married and her baby has CDH. When Hazel Grace was diagnosed was when she had a gender reveal at 16 weeks. The ultra sound tech found fluid around the baby and we were told my daughter would have to see a high risk specialist in Atlanta. To make a long story short we went every two weeks sometimes weekly to visit Atlanta only to get grim prognosis on baby Hazel. Her chromosomes and genetic tests came back normal but they could not explain why baby Hazel had a hole in her diaphram which is called CDH and she had plural infusision. Plural infusion is fluid around the baby's lungs. Well we went in for the Dr to drain the fluid only to find out he couldn't because the liver was up in the chest and he was afraid that he would puncture the liver, heart or lung and they only had 0.043cm which was not much room to get into the amniotic sac and into baby. If your a parent imagine being told that after almost two hour drive to get there at 8am in the morning for a procedure that can't even be done. They called me back to where my daughter and her fiance was to let us know it couldn't be done and that Hazel Grace had a very poor prognosis. Basically 0 to 10% survival rate. O my daughter got in touch with her Governor and her insurance company and told them how repeadly she was treated which to me was inhumane. I mean why would you tell a young mother her baby isn't going to make it and that was his opinion. We all sobbed and cried and left to go back home on the longest 2 hour journey of my life. I am a mother and how can I help my daughter who is about to be a mother and who has been told her baby will not make it and if she does her living was very small. Anyway we contacted UF in Florida. We have made two trips down there last month and the beginning of this month. We got a second opinion and a 90% survival rate. Which I cried for joy. Any way my daughter moved down to the Ronald McDonald House located there this past Monday to wait on delivery of Hazel Grace in which she will be induced on the 4th of August. I am needing help to get money up for travel and lodging and to leave money with my daughter and her husband who will stay long after we leave. It could be from 8 weeks or more and with no money to help them get what they need. I would give her money but unfortunately I can't cause of bills and rent as well as trying to take care of my disabled husband and 15 year old who does virtual school academy online. I need help and I pray you can help me. If you can't afford to donate then that is okay too. We need prayers and that will work as well. Thanks in advance and for helping us out in our time of need.
