We're almost done! But we need your help!
Over a year ago we started on the construction of a new home that would help fulfill our vision of raising our children in the most normal setting possible. Through God's grace we've been able to raise the funds to complete the structure, and we're in our final planning stages of making this structure into a home (buying furniture, beds, appliances, paint, etc...). If you can participate in the event, thats great! If you can't, please help those who have committed to walk or run on our behalf and support this final push towards completing our goal of living "Under One Roof". We hope to move into our new home by January 2016.

It has been our greatest desire to have our kids better understand family roles in a family setting. However, we have been confronted with a few obstacles in our current house. Because our space is so large, we have found the kids to be rowdy and loud, and this behavior has transferred to school and church settings. Not only that, but as the kids get older, we are seeing more importance in creating smaller bedrooms (4 to a room), so that we can move away from the dormitory style living of 10 plus kids to one large room, shower stalls, and a dinning hall.
Moreover, we have realized that current spaces are no longer functional nor appropriate for our needs, and we are growing more and more concerned about our living space as it was not built up to code. After we had the electrical fire in August of 2012, which made the kids house unlivable for 4 months, we have spent a lot of money maintaining our home and fixing past mistakes that took place during initial construction.
With a lot of prayer, research, and guidance, we are in the process of building a house that not only provides a better home environment for our family, but also resolves some of our existing concerns. Jacob and Melody were so lucky to grow up in the homes they did, and they want to teach their kids the same principles of Christ, love, belonging, responsibility, and stewardship.
We are excited as our new home was designed by licensed engineers to be sure the building is up to code, and the construction is being monitored closely to ensure a properly constructed building. The new building is designed to hold the girls and toddlers (25 children) with extra space for expansion plus Jacob and Melody will live with the kids. The older boys will still sleep in a house we have down the street, but could potentially move to the existing children’s home after some remodelling.
