Dear Sir/Madam My name is Rodney Marime l am the National Coordinator for Peace-Building and Capacity Development Foundation based in Mutare Manicaland, Zimbabwe. Peace-Building and Capacity Development Foundation advocates for Health, Gender,  Peace-Building and Capacity Development of Communities in conflict management, local governance and human rights through participatory community platforms, civic education, research, lobby and advocacy and networking for a conducive environment that facilitates peace, inclusive development and sustainable livelihoods with projects in the following districts: Buhera, Gwanda, Hwange, Mutare, Mutasa, Masvingo, Mwenezi, Seke, Bindura, Mutoko and Victoria Falls. Where we work we have noticed women and young girls using clothes during their Periods and we felt it was unhealthy. Peace-Building and Capacity Development Foundation is seeking Sanitary Pads and Toiletries Donation for Underprivileged Girls in rural communities. With your your donation we will give the girl child an equal chance to compete and lead a fulfilled life.Girls in underprivileged areas miss 4 days of school per month on average when they are menstruating due to a lack of menstrual hygiene knowledge and resources. They are pulled out of school, married early, and are more likely to be subjected to violence. They are faced with teenage pregnancies, and are highly  exposed to infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS. 5.7% school girls get pregnant at the age of 15-19. Contraceptive usage among adolescent is 12.2%, Girls in rural communities also have less opportunity to be educated, are more at risk of gender-based violence, breast ironing and they are faced with greater risk of economic and sexual exploitation. These challenges and other obnoxious cultural taboos as concerns menstruation negatively affect the admission and retention of girls in schools. With your Sanitary Pads donations girls in rural communities will become more confident, will have a  high self-esteem, and this will reduce shame about puberty and their bodies. Peace-Building and Capacity  Development Foundation believes that your donations will increase school attendance rates and will improve girls’ quality of education, and by effect, their economic opportunities. We are aiming to donate Sanitary Pads and Toiletries to 10000 girls in areas of Manicaland, Masvingo and Matabeleland from the 31st of August 2017. We hope our request meets your favorable consideration Sincerely Yours Rodney Marime National Coordinator Peace-Building and Capacity Development Foundation Land:+263 20 68538 Mobile:+263 77 294 2205
