Did you know that 1 in 5 kids in the U.S. have learning and attention issues? They struggle with vital skills like reading, writing, math, organization and focus. These kids are as smart as their peers, but many are misunderstood or don’t get the right support. I know because both my children have learning differences that I am so happy to have learned about early on in their life. As a teacher I feel understood.org has been so helpful in helping me to help my children and my students!!
Understood.org is a free resource created by 15 nonprofits to empower the parents of the 1 in 5 to get the best help possible for their child. We offer personalized information, interactive tools, daily access to experts, a supportive community of parents and more.
Understood began with a dream to give parents everywhere access to the kind of help only a small number of parents had. It’s available in English, Spanish and read-aloud mode. And since launching in October 2014, we’ve reached more than 10 million parents!
Join me as I ride with my brother in NYC’s TD Five Boro Bike Tour in support of the 1 in 5 children with learning and attention issues and their parents of which I am one!!
