This year I am running the Boston Marathon for the US Fund for UNICEF! As many of you know I've been involved with UNICEF for a long time and am totally committed to it as the organization which has saved more children's lives than any other humanitarian organization. This is the first year we have numbers for the marathon and we hope as a team to raise $50k. I'm trying to raise $10k to do my part.
I'm really excited to be part of Team UNICEF - Boston because the money we raise supports an amazing new program - UNICEF Kid Power - which gets kids here in the US active so children everywhere can grow up healthy. Built for a new generation of global citizens, Kid Power taps into kids’ inherent desire to help their peers. It is a movement powered by kids to end global malnutrition.
One day of activity unlocks funding for ONE packet of therapeutic food. A full day of activity (12,000 steps/day)* earns 5 Power Points - which unlocks 1 packet of lifesaving food for a malnourished child. Kids helping kids. We are proud to have 6,000 kids in Boston participating in this innovative program.
So please consider supporting this program by sponsoring my running of the marathon! Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you so much for your consideration and please, come cheer me on in April. I'll need all the motivational support I can get!
