Several countries in West Africa are facing an outbreak of Ebola that has become a major regional threat.
More than 2,500 cases have been reported since March, and more than 1,300 people have died.
UNICEF is stepping up its efforts across seven countries—Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Mali and Gambia—to prevent further spread of the virus, through mobile messaging and communication campaigns to counter misinformation about how the virus is transmitted. Since the outbreak was declared, UNICEF and its partners have reached at least 5.5 million people in West Africa, distributing essential supplies to affected communities.
As a part of UNICEF's Campus Initiative, UNICEF at Ohio University is determined to raise funds and awareness about the spread of Ebola in West Africa. Every donation, big or small, can help contribute to the significant improvement we hope to see in Africa. Even the smallest donations can help save the life of a child in need!
