Every 90 seconds 1 child dies from a water- related illness
$15 donated = 1 year of clean, safe water for a child
The UNICEF Tap Project - a nationwide campaign - provides clean water and basic sanitation to children around the world. In 2017, you can help provide clean, safe water to children by:
- Putting your cell phone down. Stop texting, calling, emailing, tweeting and posting -- and challenge your friends to do the same. 5 minutes without your phone = 1 day of water. Take the challenge on your cell phone at UNICEFTapProject.org.
- Maximize your impact by setting up a fundraising page. Every $15 raised = 1 year of clean, safe water for a child.
UNICEF works in more than 100 countries to improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities and to promote safe hygiene. Thanks to UNICEF and its partners, more people have access to clean water than ever before. 2.6 billion people have gained access to clean drinking water over the past 25 years. Still, 663 million people lack safe water, and more than 2.4 billion people live without a proper toilet. It’s not just inconvenient — it’s lethal.
