BENEFITING: Union Rescue Mission
This year for my birthday, instead of going out to dinner or getting drinks with friends, I wanted to give my birthday to a good cause. I figured this year I could put that birthday socializing money towards helping the homeless; raising money that provides meals, shelter, job training classes, and clinics to get those who are less fortunate to get the help they need. I'm encouraging any of my friends or family who would also like to donate to the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles.
Since I will be turning 32 years old, I thought to set a fair, reachable goal of $320. If I can raise more then that goal for them, well even better!
It's one of the largest private homeless shelters in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles, founded in 1891 I've always wanted to volunteer or give back helping the homeless in some way. I thought why not on my birthday this year?!? So forget about buying me that birthday shot. This would be a great birthday wish come true for me. :-)
Of course don't feel pressured to have to give if you can't. I definetley know what it's like to struggle myself when it comes to money. Feel free to spread the word, invite friends, and spread the kindness, I think we definitely need that in the world lately. Anything you can give would be going to a wonderful cause in helping those in need.
The fundraising will be happening from now until Nov. 10th, (the day after my birhday).
