Unique Way to Help Americans
Organized by: Kathie Turner
Hi Angels, What if I told you my story isn’t solely about me; it’s about millions of other people whose voices haven’t been heard…until now! Here's how it all started. I, like many other Americans, found myself in the E.R. one day suffering from some sort of disabling neurological condition. Though several diagnoses have been ruled out, to date I've yet to obtain the reason for my condition. Over time my symptoms progressively dictated my new "normal," ultimately transforming me into a female hermit. The three associate degrees that were within my grasp slipped through my fingers like powdered snow. Working was now a thing of the past. It’s not that I wasn’t ambulatory, simply put; I became a fumbling, maladjusted, poorly communicative mess as a result of my cognitive and memory problems. My tradeoff for human contact was a desktop computer and a connection to social media. I eventually joined a neurological chat room that allows its members to tell their story leading up to a diagnosis. As I talked with more and more members, two exceedingly prominent aspects popped from each story. Their disease and/or symptoms forced them to abandon a thriving career, and in doing so, lives were altered from which they'd become accustom to, including their income. Hearing their struggles bothered me, a lot! I thought about all the money people donate to charities, yet obtaining life's necessities for some still wasn’t within reach. Quite accidentally, while talking in the chat room, I came up with my “Return to Sender” line of pillowcases. With the money made on each product sold I’d donate 20% percent to the corresponding charity. However, I’d specify that the money donated would go specifically into a program already set up within that organization to help people on a personal level. With that idea consuming every thought, my research had begun. Slowly, as each week ended, my project, or concept, was becoming a reality. Unfortunately, my funds have been limited as well. I could only afford a small amount of stock to embellish my idea. I need different products to offer for current and future charities I want to help. I'll also need the help of a web builder and other aspects that go along with business necessities. I've since found myself on the receiving end of a disability diagnosis, but I refuse to acknowledge it. "As one door closes, another one opens." With that said I feel as though I've been given the opportunity to help Americans through my company, I just need help getting it going and recognized. Well, that's my story in a nutshell. Please help my dream become a reality. You can reach me on Facebook under "Doting Angels." My website is www.dotingangels.com Thank You, Angels & God Bless!
