BENEFITING: Mama Hope
August 19th is World Humanitarian Day!
In celebration of this day, I'm asking you to think about something that is part of your normal routine, and how much money you could save if you skipped it for a day, a week, or even a month. Then, I want you to think about the impact that money could make!
Skipping out on drinks for the weekend could pay for window and doorframes for the United Hearts' new classrooms. Not going to Starbucks for the week could buy a bag of cement that will finish the inside of the building, where students will be learning every day for years to come. Eating at home instead of going to a restaurant a few times could save $100, enough to buy 300 cement blocks that will build the second floor of the school!
Every bit counts!
It may seem like nothing to skip out on a coffee or a drink, but it all adds up! It's so easy, and can make such a huge impact. Donate today and watch what a difference you can make!
Here are some ideas of things you can skip:
- Going out for dinner
- Manicure + pedicure
- Taxi rides
- Going to the movies
Feel free to share any creative ideas you have!
About my project:
This September, I will be traveling to Bawjiase, Ghana to work in partnership with The United Hearts Children Center (UHCC) to help them expand their facility to include a school! This school will provide an education for both the children who live at UHCC as well as 200 additional children from the surrounding community. The school is currently under construction. In preparation for my travels to Ghana, I have committed to fundraising $20,000 that will allow the community to complete construction of the school.
Together, let's get one step closer to making UHCC's dream a reality!
