The holidays are a time for food, family and giving back to our friends and neighbors in need. For the thousands of children in Greater Detroit, hunger isn't limited to a season. But with your help, we can change that. Donate today to help us expand our epic summer Meet Up and Eat Up sites to 10 new locations and provide 30,000 more meals and healthy activities to kids in Greater Detroit.
What are our results?
In 2014, more than 1.65 million meals were served at 650 kid-friendly summer sites, like parks, libraries and rec centers. (We're still tallying this summer's results, but we're pretty confident they will surpass last year's numbers.)
But more than that -- when we started this work just a few years ago, we had a handful of partners and limited sites. Today, we've grown the network to include hundreds of partners and sites and have added kid-friendly activities to encourage a healthy lifestyle. And now we're bringing Meet Up and Eat Up throughout the state. We're not stopping until every child has access to the food they need to grow strong and healthy. And we can only do that with your help.
