Red Nose Day is a campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty. The campaign encourages everyone from children to corporations to do something fun in the name of raising awareness around a serious global issue, while also raising funds to help identify and deliver solutions. Red Nose Day USA activities culminate in a 3-hour telethon airing on NBC Saturday May 21 at 8pm.
Red Nose Day USA is an opportunity for viewers and participants to “Have fun, raise money and change lives.”
Money raised during the Red Nose Day campaign goes to the Red Nose Day Fund, which then distributes grants to 12 non-profit partners. United Way Worldwide is a grantee to the Red Nose Day Fund grant. A first round of funds will be provided to each non-profit partner by the Red Nose Day Fund. Those monies granted to United Way Worldwide will then be re-granted to local United Ways showing great impact in early learning in communities that target low-income families.
The Red Nose Day Fund is a program of Comic Relief Inc. a 501(3)C public charity.’
