BENEFITING: Unity At The Lake
Unity at the Lake in South Lake Tahoe, CA has found a new spiritual home to lease. We are a small but vibrant, positive, open and loving spiritual community that welcomes everyone right where they are. We are very proud of the light and presence we’ve held in the community for 23 years. Our proudest achievement is that we celebrate and inspire a positive, spiritual life in a practical way, regardless of one's religion or belief system. In addition, over that time, we’ve donated a portion of our income every month to organizations and individuals who make the world a better place, as well as earmarking a percentage of that specifically for Lake Tahoe folks. We started the local community-wide observance of the Season for Peace and NonViolence which lasted quite a few years. Our annual bear-a-thon (pictured) has brought comfort to thousands of local children over the years. We brought Wayne Dyer to Lake Tahoe for his only appearance here and we were the first to bring the Tibetan monks, who have now become an annual fixture. We have a regular team at Bread & Broth, and have participated in many other service projects. At our current location, we created a beautiful outdoor labyrinth for the community to enjoy. The new sacred space is at 895 Emerald Bay Road. It will require $20,000 in build-out expenses. We estimate an additional $10,000 in costs for things like window coverings, a kitchen, and general furnishings to make the space “ours”. We will require this money by the middle of September, when we can take possession of the space. Our lease officially begins November 1. We can stay in our new home for 15 years, if we choose (and hopefully much longer). If you’ve received any spiritual nourishment from us and/or it calls to your heart to donate to this cause, we thank you and bless you. Giving from a joyous heart is a demonstration of our true nature and we know that such a gift always comes back in greater abundance. Namaste.
