BENEFITING: Libby Ross Foundation
The Libby Ross Breast Cancer Foundation and the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority at Syracuse University proudly hosted the first annual Orange U Yoga event this past Sunday, February 27th. A day of community awareness and yoga classes were held to benefit the LRBCF Pose for Pink Yoga Program, which provides support to women touched by cancer through the healing power of yoga.
The Orange U Yoga event is the first in a series of youth-oriented initiatives in which LRBCF will spread awareness of the disease among a younger generation of women through the practice of yoga. “As awareness and early detection are so critical, it is our hope that through our Yoga outreach to younger women, we can limit the effects on the next generation, “said founder Lori Ross.
The Foundation has kick-started the “University Yoga” outreach at Syracuse and hopes to expand U Yoga to more higher learning institutions nationwide in 2011. With your contribution, we can continue to spread awareness and build a community of support to those affected by breast cancer.
