BENEFITING: Unlimited Play Inc
EVENT DATE: Jun 28, 2015
I believe in a society that takes a comprehensive approach to health and physical literacy for all. This approach should exist not only in schools and programs, but also in infrastrucutre and policy.
Unlimited Play exemplifies this type of approach. With over a decade of experience, they have consulted with families, doctors, researchers, therapists, and others to build play spaces that are truly inclusive.
My goal is to complete my first Ironman triathlon (140.6 miles of swimmin', bikin' and runnin') in honor of every kid who would benefit for an inclusive playground. I want to spread the Unlimited Play message, because I think we all have a lot to learn from this incredible non-profit organization. I was proud to raise almost $4000 for Unlimited Play through my running the Boston marathon last year, and I am pumped to further support this amazing organization.
If you are unable to donate or simply wish not to, please consider sharing Unlimited Play's website (www.unlimitedplay.org) and /or the video on this page through your social media channels. Together, we can help educate and inspire decision makers and funders that "Every body has a right to play!" In doing so, perhaps we will see roads built with bike paths, programs include offerings for individuals who happen to have specific needs, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: I will be funding my own travel, registration, gear, etc. for Ironman Coeur D'Alane, 2015. This, your donation goes directly to Unlimited Play so that they can use it as they deem appropriate. NO funds donated go to Amanda Stanec or her personal goal of completing the Ironman.
NOTE: Thank you to Lululemon Athletica (Central West End Location) for their $1700 donation which was sent directly to Unlimited Play! We appreciate your support in the name of ALL children and youth.
