Mission Trip to UN Summit
Organized by: Benedict Joson
EVENT DATE Sep 28, 2015
Kennith Dillena and Szia Martin are A World at School Global Youth Ambassadors advocating for the 1.2 million primary-age out-of-school children in the Philippines. Their activism and that of the Philippine youth leaders they will represent - with your support - will be highlighted at the United Nations Summit and #UpForSchool Town Hall in late September 2015.
In order to get there, we need your help in expeditiously raising funds to cover the cost of their visa application and airfare. The application fee for a nonimmigrant tourist visa is US $160/application and roundtrip airfare is around US $1,340/roundtrip ticket.
You donation will make an impact in raising the voice of young Filipino leaders in the Philippines and beyond, as well as youth and education activists all over the world. Thank you very much in advance for your championing of this cause and these changemakers. Please await posts and updates from us on this page.
A World at School
Launched in 2013, A World at School provides a digital platform for information-sharing and coalition-building to challenge issue- and country-specific barriers to education and effect lasting change. Energized by the grassroots activism of over 500 global youth ambassadors supported by more than 250 business, civil society, faith, teacher, and international organizations, as well as numerous celebrities and youth leaders in 85 countries, A World at School is making big strides in bolstering the cause of education for all.
On Monday, September 28, 2015, A World at School will be hosting a forum - Town Hall - where United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General's Special Envoy on Global Education Gordon Brown, education champion Graca Machel, youth leaders, and more will be speaking and calling on the international community to support the education of children worldwide.
