BENEFITING: THEY OFTEN CRY OUTREACH
There are over 58 million children out of school today! 34 million of those are girls and over 15 million of those are children with disabilities or special needs, often marginalized and deprived access to an inalienable human right, the right to education! Despite several promises made by world leaders to ensure that every child is in school by October 2015, the clock is ticking and that goal seems to be far fetched. Do we depend on them or take matters into our hands? Well YOP is poised at acting now than waiting! Taking matters into our hands and prioritizing the education of as many children as we possibly can! Youth Outreach Programme Cameroon (YOP), a youth led organization in Cameroon working for and with young people since its founding has worked tirelessly in the face of a myriad of obstacles to address issues of marginalization, inequality, HIV/AIDS and other challenges facing young people with disabilities, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC's), socially excluded people (SEP), sexual minorities and those living with HIV/AIDS providing them with opportunities to accessing quality and holistic education. This work mixes with our preventative risk-reduction strategies in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Substance Abuse because we believe it is essential to equip young people to tackle the 21st Century aptly. We do our work through a combination of volunteering our time, material and financial support in educating and creating opportunities for them ,enabling them access quality education in safe, affordable, acessible and fun ways!
