THE STORY:

The victims of the earthquake in Nepal didn't get a chance to recover nor rebuild their homes due to monsoons, blockade and inept government. And now they are hit by freezing winter. Most families still live under the temprorary tents. The winter has claimed lives and threatens many. This is our small effort. It takes many kind and compassionate people like you to make it happen. And we are appealing to you for help to make that change.

We are raising funds for Upaya's Nepal Relief Fund becuase they have been on the ground helping people in remote areas of Gorkha, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk and camps in Kathmandu city. I personally worked closely with Pasang Lamu Sherpa and Tora Akita who have been taking the supplies to families funded by Upaya. Upaya Zen has been headed by Roshi Joan Halifax who has selflessly been helping the marginalized community in Nepal for years. She leads a Nomad Clinic every year to remote parts of Nepal. Let's help her, help Nepal.

Everything we raise here will go towards Nepal. It's a tax-deductible contribution. The blockade has made life more difficult for Nepalis in the villages. The camps we set up as a temprorary home is now their only home. The basic shortages has made become one of the greatest man made disasters in the country.

Here is a brief summary of what Upaya has done so far just this year.
