BENEFITING: UPS FOR DOWNS NFP
EVENT DATE: Sep 07, 2014
Hello to Everyone and to my Family and Friends,
First and foremost thank you for your donations to these worthy causes. Many of you may or may not know this but the Ironman journey started over 4 years ago.I was taking a spin class taught by the President of the Buehler YTri Club, Kristan Felix. That particular day she was talking about triathlons and encouraging the class to give it a try. Then, I was 65 pounds heavier but I thought I could manage it. It was a super sprint. I loved it and a new triathlete was born. In the last 4 years a transformation happened, my lifestyle changed for the better. In 2012 I participated in my first 70.3 Ironman. It was such an accomplishment and with that accomplishment I knew I could complete a full 140.6 Ironman with a lot of hard work and dedicated training. Last September (2013) I took that plunge and signed up. Since then I have a coach, I have the support of great teammates from Ytri and Dick Pond Fast Track, support from my family and friends that are guiding me and preparing me for what is going to be a goal,a dream, an acheivement that would have never believed to be possible if you would have asked me 5 years ago. The word Ironman was nonexistent in my vocabulary. 65lbs lighter and here I am strong in my faith, my mind and body.
During this journey, reflecting on my races, what I have seen, obstacles I have seen athletes overcome that have inspired me, loved ones battling health issues much more painful than any training regiment I could ever endure. Also reflecting on how blessed I am that I am able to compete. During this it changed my motive of training. It is not about WHEN I finish it is about WHY I'm finishing! I am doing this for those who can't, those who struggle with disabilites and those that are fighting serious health issues. I am blessed to have met Lindsey Pazerunas and Sam McLeod. They are the children of my friends. I am also blessed with my son Alex. I am running this race for them and many many others not mentioned who are close to my heart. I am asking to donate to these 2 charities. If you have deep pockets then dig deep. If you have limited means then give what you can. If you have no means then your prayers and support are deeply appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Surprise me and let's blow up my goal amount together! Here is a link to my other fundraising page please consider giving to both.
This race will be done with 100% effort and all heart.
All my love,
