BENEFITING: Urban Impact
ORGANIZER: Urban Impact
EVENT DATE: May 03, 2015
For the past 5 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to volunteer with an organization that has grown so close to my heart, the Urban Impact Foundation. Tony and I started volunteering with the soccer program, but now we lead dodgeball at the Monday Nights program in the summer, and I lead the 3rd-5th grade girl's basketball program in the fall and winter. I plan to run my first half marathon to raise funds for this great organization on the North Side of Pittsburgh who are changing lives: one person, one family, one block at a time. Any amount you can give will help support this great organization.
Urban Impact is a faith-based, non-profit organization that was founded by Rev. Dr. Ed Glover. He and his wife, Tammy, have been involved in urban ministry on Pittsburgh’s North Side since 1986. The organization, chartered in 1995, was created to foster Christian community development on the North Side by changing lives one person, one family, one block at a time. The organization focuses on helping at-risk kids, youth, and their families in a holistic manner; i.e. by meeting needs academically, spiritually, physically and socially. Financial support comes from charitable foundations, corporations, churches and individuals.
