The Urban Tech Fair is a national 10 city tour showcasing local resources and promoting …Access, Education and Commerce.
a). To The Internet: Create a Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) utilizing WiFi technology. The MAN model is designed to include social media elements that allow community inter-action and empowerment…Always focusing on LOCAL
b.) To Funding: Create a community based “CrowdFunding” web portal designed to reinvest in the community through social networking. This non-profit enterprise will allow residents to vote with their dollars and thereby create a new source of start-up funding and charitable donations based on individual community input.
a.) For Self-Improvement: Our MAN network will contain links to Free online courses for individuals to re-train or improve their personal digital skills, as well as gain certifications for Digital Vocations. We will also feature educational sites that assist or mentor students on local school curriculum.
b.) About Community Resources: Our MAN network will feature streaming video specials and webcasts of underutilized community social services and resources. Our goal is for the MAN network to become the first choice in locating community resources and services.
a.) Small Business Tech Tools: The MAN model is also designed to facilitate webcasts, seminars, and workshops that teach and train small businesses in their communities about the benefits of adopting and accessing broadband technology in the day-to-day operation of their businesses.
b.) Entrepreneurship: Implementing technology based accelerator camps and challenges which are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if technology-centric start-up ideas are viable.
Currently we’re collaborating with national technology associations, Business organizations, and local community groups to promote Access, Education, and Commerce through these tech fairs. We have many Hip-Hop celebrities endorsing and supporting the concept of Urban Tech fairs.
Maybe some of your associates might be interested in supporting our cause or identifying local/regional sponsors.
