Urgent Transportation Need for the Clarks
Organized by: Solid Ground Christian Fellowship
Tasha Clark is a young woman with two children who has already had one brain surgery for a diagnosis called chiari malformation and pseudo tumor cerebri. Her first surgery resulted in the loss of vision in one eye. Chiari malformation is when the brain herniates down into the spinal canal. Pseudo tumor cerebri results in excess production of spinal fluid, and requires a shunt that diverts fluid to the abdominal cavity where it is absorbed.
Tasha requires a second serious brain surgery. She is now experiencing severe headaches most of the time. Sleeping is difficult because the pain wakes her up if she does get to sleep. It is harder and harder for her to function and care for her children, Steven (8) and Kaiya (6). She, her Mom, Brenda and the children all live together, and her Mom is helping as much as she can.
She needs to have this second serious brain surgery in Denver, Colorado at the Chiari Institute. She will need to be there for recovery from one to three months. She cannot fly, as after the surgery she has to stay flat. In addition, her family will need a vehicle while they are there. They presently have no vehicle; so we are planning to help them rent a van. Tasha has a service dog, her Mom, and the two children that will be going with her. They will be staying in the Ronald McDonald House near the Chiari Institute. Of course, her Mom will be doing all the driving.
We have set our goal at $2,000 for this fund raiser. In addition to the rental vehicle, they will need money for gas, food and travel.
