BENEFITING: USBG NATIONAL CHARITY FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Aug 14, 2017
Michael Soo wrote -During the National Leadership Conference a group of USBG members will be cycling to the Brass Rail in Port Huron. The Brass Rail is the bar which Tony Abou-Ganim's cousin Helen David opened 80 years ago on June 15th 1937. This is the bar where Tony had his first legal cocktails April 14, 1978 and later on started learning the craft from Helen. She ran the bar for nearly 70 years and helped pave the path for women in the bartending industry. The Helen David Relief Fund honors the memory of the beloved bar owner and community leader from Port Huron, Michigan. Beating breast cancer twice during her lifetime, Helen is an inspiration to those living with the disease. In her name, the HDRF assists women in the bar industry who are fighting breast cancer with the same dignity and courage that Helen exemplified throughout her battle and life as a pioneer business owner in the bar industry. USBG members Brandon Casey and Michael Regan will be representing the Phoenix Chapter, and other members from the chapter will be supporting back home in AZ!
