USC Community Health Involvement Project
Organized by: CHIP USC
We are a club of students who have a passion for spreading health awareness to the community. Through specialized trainings, we educate ourselves in order to pass on the information to others. By establishing long-lasting relationships with community centers such as recreational centers, afterschool programs, churches, and health fairs, we aim to be an integrated part of the community’s public health programs. We will be providing important health services such as blood pressure, blood glucose, body mass index screenings. Through these services, we will help prevent diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and ultimately promote the importance of health. Annually, we host a health fair at Hoover Elementary school where different health related organizations and nurses, pharmacists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals collaborate to promote health education and provide basic health screenings to children and adults to prevent prevalent diseases and to ensure healthy lives. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for medical supplies, health site events, and health fairs alike. Without your generous donations, it would be much more difficult to maintain a sustainable impact.
