BENEFITING: UNICEF USA
ORGANIZER: UNICEF USA
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
Thanks for checking this out. This is one New Year’s Resolution that I AM keeping. In the past I had made resolutions that I kept for no more than a few months. Over the past several years, my beautiful wife has helped me quit smoking, find the path to a healthy dinner table and improve my overall wellbeing. In 2016, with a young baby motivating me even more, I have been determined to run consistently and make better changes to my health. Once I got going, I needed a goal to shoot for. I finished a handful of half-marathons in the past but never more than that. Once I got going, I decided I might as well shoot for a full marathon. What better marathon to run than the NYC Marathon. So I started thinking, “If I am going to run 26.2 miles, why not raise money for a charity”. So that’s where UNICEF comes in.
UNICEF is a great cause and everyone know how they help children in need around the world. Please have a look below to see some of the things they do. I am running like “I stole it” so that I can stay healthy and grow old with my wife and daughter and looking forward to knocking out my first marathon. I am committed to running 26.2 miles and raising at least $3,500 for UNICEF in the process. Please support me as I try to help a great cause and achieve a personal goal.
U.S. Fund for UNICEF wrote -
UNICEF does whatever it takes to save and protect the world's most vulnerable children. Forty years ago, UNICEF figured out that promoting simple, low-cost interventions like hand washing and breastfeeding could save millions of lives. Undaunted by war or geography, UNICEF delivers.
Members of Team UNICEF NYC have committed to each raise a minimum of $3,500, in support of UNICEF's work worldwide.
