Experience Camps are one-week sleep away camps for boys and girls who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. It's a place where kids can feel "normal", because everyone there has been through something similar and understands what it's like to lose someone important to them. It's a home away from home. And just about everyone will tell you..."It's the best week of the year".
Experience camps are 100% free for campers- it takes $1,000 to send a camper to camp. Our regional goal is to send 10 new campers – meaning we will raise $10,000 by the end of 2016!
For each donation made by one of our reps, I will personally match it until we reach this goal. As many of you know, this month our family experienced the sudden loss of my nephew. He leaves behind 3 children who one day could use a week like this to help them through the emotions of losing their father at such a young age. This charity was already close to our hearts as we have heard the personal stories of campers told by my daughter, but is even more special considering the recent tragedy we experienced.
