Facilitating Loving Interfaith Encounters in Israel
Organized by: Mehdi Davachi
Thank you for reading this letter about what I am enthusiastically doing. Since I was a baby boy, I always remember dreaming of bringing people of various cultures and religions together in One-Love. Currently I am in Jerusalem volunteering with the Interfaith Encounter Association (IEA), facilitating respectful communication with the various religious and cultural groups living in the Holy Land. We are dedicated to promoting real coexistence and human peace in the Holy Land and beyond through cross-cultural study and inter-religious dialogue. I know as the people of the region respectfully encounter each other on a human level, outside of politics, they will see the many similarities they share with the 'other.' Our intention is to facilitate respectful dialogue and bridge interfaith loving relationships on a grassroots level. We believe all real healing and mutual respect begins with expressing our authentic selves, hearing the other side, understanding each other and accepting each other as equal 'divine beings' having a human experience. Of course, in this human experience, we are each unique and we sometimes disagree. However within the safe boundaries of these encounters, we are creating a loving space where our disagreements can be heard, understood and healed. I am so delighted now witnessing these multi-faith encounters as a source in helping bridge people together. Coexisting in loving is our intention, and we believe love is our natural state. May we experience this or something higher for everyone involved.
I am volunteering my time this month, and looking for ways to raise money so we may expand our 'interfaith encounters.' Please be generous, and remember any amount you donate is greatly appreciated and welcomed.
