The University of Southern Mississippi has a rich diverse history. Currently USM hosts a Center for Human Rights and a Center for Black Studies, within the next two years we hope to have a Spectrum Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Students. This center will be the hub of the Hub City's gay community. It will also be the first center of its kind in the state. It will feature a library as well as office/storage space for the USM Gay Straight Alliance.
