On October 29th, 2012, Superstorm Sandy landed on the Jersey Shore, devastating most of the shoreline and large parts of Monmouth County. Over 12,000 homes needed repairs with 90% of those homes being primary residences.
THANKS to the generosity of thousands of donors, volunteers, corporations and fellow non profits, we are on the road to recovery, but the work is far from done and we need YOUR HELP!
Thus far, we have worked on 75 homes and utilized over 1,000 volunteers from across New Jersey, but there are still thousands of homes that need repair.
As of March 31, 2014, We have spent in total $385,000 to help some of our poorest and hardest hit residents get back into their homes.
This is an ongoing effort that will not reach the finish line for years to come. Currently we have 16 of AmeriCorps supporting the efforts of hundreds of volunteers monthly who are working daily to repair the homes of Sandy victims.
But today, we ask for your support to continue helping our fellow Monmouth County residents get the repairs they need, repairs they cannot afford to get back into their homes. Again this is an ongoing effort that will easily cost millions of dollars to get families back in their homes.
Thank you for your support!
Together we can win the Ocean First Bank Challenge and continue making in a difference in the lives of others who were devastated by Superstorm Sandy.
