The Uptown Yoga Teacher Training Class of 2015 is fundraising for The Buddy League. Our classmate, Pooja Singhania, has benefited personally from their good works, and we want to help her give back.
Here is why Pooja is passionate about the Buddy League: "Our son, Vedant, was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy which is a fatal genetic disorder. We have lived with it for 3 years now and each day brings its own challenges and learning. Through this journey, we have met many amazing kids, families and individuals who have dedicated themselves to this cause. While there is no cure yet, research is underway and relentless efforts to get therapies to market to benefit suffering kids. However, I am passionate about everything that helps makes a child’s life better today; anything that allows him TODAY to live a normal life and be a normal kid. Sports are important to boys at this age and Buddy League gives Vedant the opportunity to be a 10 year old boy."
Our goal is to raise $2,500 to help pay for the sports fields, insurance and uniforms for the Buddy League. Please help us give children the chance to build confidence, make friends and have fun through this generous program.
In exchange for your donation, we will invite you to the #UYTT15challenge facebook group and instagram account. Each day of the 21 day challenge, the trainee's will design an exercise to strengthen your mind, body or spirit. In addition to doing something good for your karma, you can do something good for yourself everyday for 21 days. Hopefully you will then be in habit of doing as much good for yourself as you do for others!
