Stuff About Me:

Stuff about me:  I always hate this title!  I do not like putting on paper or the web that I like long walks on the beach, I do don't get me wrong!  Fundraising is not about me, I will title this section Why I Do What I Do!  Here I go:  Running and I have had a love hate relationship for a long time, it is a solo sport.  On long runs you can become critical and judgemental of yourself.  Long runs allow for deep dark feelings to emerge from your core, I hated the person that was coming out all the time.  I began to dive into books after books about finding peace during runs, almost a euphoric meditative state of running.  During my first marathon running for Hope Water Project I put these new skills to test.  Family and friends were amazed at my appearance at every turn of 26.2 miles.  My Mom, best cheerleader, ran for a bit along side me and she kept saying "you look amazing, are you tired and how are you doing this?"  My secret is that I run for a purpose, a greater purpose, water.  It sounds so simple and I wish it was.  I keep in my head that woman in the Pokot Tribe walk and carry water for miles just to ensure that their family and village has clean water.  All of my running is worth it to bring heathly drinking water and enable the Hope Team to share the love of Christ.  This year I will be running the half marathon, I'm getting old, every second of doubt or hesitation I will look at my wrist.  I have an amazing bracelet that the tribe made, on it I meditate and focus my run.  I no longer run as a solo sport as I run with thousands of others all with the same purpose.
