Purple Purse Fundraiser
September 27, 2016
BENEFITING: ALLIANCE FOR COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATIONS
ORGANIZER: ALLIANCE FOR COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATIONS
Dear Community Member,
You are cordially invited to participate this October in the Purple Purse Campaign sponsored by the All State Foundation. The Purple Purse Campaign is a national event designed to raise awareness and funds for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic Violence affects 1 in 4 women nationally, and in Merced County 1 in 3 families. When a survivor is experiencing domestic violence 98% of the time they are also experiencing financial abuse, which creates a barrier for a survivor to leave.
Valley Crisis Center, and their advocates, have dedicated themselves to supporting survivors and their families to gain their freedom from all types of violence. Our agency is a nonprofit agency and our services are completely free to all. We offer support with restraining orders, court accompaniment, individual counseling, group counseling, transportation for medical services, emergency safe house and a 24-HR hotline.
Our agency hopes to help our survivors regain their independence and live healthy lives free from all forms of violence. The Purple Purse is a symbol of both financial freedom and awareness about this issue in our community. It is with your contribution that we can come together and show solidarity for those affected by domestic violence in their lives.
We have two ways to get involved, through our online campaign or through the in person donation drive. If
you donate online, you will have the opportunity to leave a message of hope along with your $10 minimum monetary contribution. If you would like to donate through particular advocate, your donation of $10 or more will receive a gift of a Purple Purse Tassel with a survivor’s story of hope and empowerment (while supplies last).
Valley Crisis Center will be awarding a beautiful purple purse designed by actress Kerry Washington to the individual who makes the biggest donation by October 25th! All donations received will directly benefit members of Merced County. We appreciate the opportunity to work with
