BENEFITING: VanderCook College of Music
ORGANIZER: VanderCook College of Music
EVENT: 2015 Shamrock Shuffle 8K
EVENT DATE: Mar 29, 2015
My name is Patrick Benson and my wife Dulcinea Basile and I are running for Team VanderCook! This is my first Shamrock Shuffle and Dulcinea's third. Our goal is to have a successful 8K while raising funds to support VanderCook College of Music.
Patrick received his undergraduate degree from VanderCook in 2008 and currently serves as the VanderCook Alumni Association President. He’s in his 7th year as Assistant Band Director at Hubbard High School on the southwest side of Chicago. Patrick says it is difficult to sum up the education and experience VanderCook provided him. He had wonderful teachers, fantastic performances, created many great friendships, and left with a passion for music education. VanderCook is a wonderful College and he personally wants to ensure that the experience he had is one that future students will have.
Dulcinea received her undergraduate degree in flute performance and her masters in music education from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. She teaches in Chicago Public Schools and has a successful flute studio in the western suburbs. Like Patrick, she is passionate about education and providing students with the opportunity to learn to sing and play an instrument.
Music has played a very large role in both our lives and we believe it is an essential part of education. By supporting this campaign you are contributing to the future of music education, the performing arts, and music in our schools. Every contribution counts no matter how large or small.
Thank you all!
Patrick and Dulcinea
