A 2013-14 Building Excellent Schools Fellow, Vanessa Jackson is the proposed Executive Director for Collegiate Charter High School of Los Angeles. As the founding Dean of Upper School & College for Achievement First Brooklyn High School in Brooklyn, New York, Ms. Jackson taught grades nine through twelve, designed and implemented systems and structures to support college preparation and admissions, built college-going culture throughout the school, and coached a team that supported 100% of students in the school’s founding class to secure acceptances to four-year colleges and universities.
Before teaching and leading high school students, Ms. Jackson worked with two high-performing networks of college preparatory charter schools. Ms. Jackson earned a BA from Princeton University, was a Fulbright Fellow, and earned a MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business as a Reynolds Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship.
