I'll be running the Detroit Free Press International Half Marathon. At the beginning of the year, I decided I would use the Half-Marathon as an opportunity to fund raise for the Foundation. I am a slacker and the Half-Marathon is only a week away, so I now have to fund-raise quickly. I would like to thank all the people who donated via cash or PayPal in January when I first announced I was running the Half. Now I'm going to beg for money again. Since I'll be running 13.1 miles, please support me by donating $13 or more dollars to Library Access Foundation.
The Foundation has sponsored the Taylor Community Library's Braille and Talking Books bi-monthly newsletters to get information to eligible users about the Braille and Talking Books program. In addition, it has donated assistive devices, such as magnifiers, book holders, and a walker. We hope to get help other libraries in Wayne County obtain these devices, but a large scale effort will require greater funding. One high-quality lighted magnifier runs $30-$50. Even if you can't donate, please share this page to help us find donors. Thank you!
