I am a lecturer teaching game creation in Malaysia and have some great graduates. A few have already been swallowed by the industry and a few intend to go on to further study abroad and it is good to see them succeed but sometimes I think it is a pity that having taught them, I lose the opportunity to leverage the talent and see them flourish professionally together. After all, I'm not just a teacher I'm an artist too. So with some seniors we now aim to form a development company, and want to raise funds to furnish a working studio. We'll go through the normal stages of generating some proof of concept documentation, making a working prototype, shipping a completed game and then assess the future direction of the group. which will hopefully be servicing an online game and expanding and further developing it and new titles. What we need funds for currently is fuelling the six month dash to making our product and team interesting to partners. We need to pay a contract programmer specialised in the areas that meet our requirements, pay to extend the gear we've already pooled and pay for some marketing and legal costs. The game creation we've committed to is coming from the sweat of our brows (it's Malaysia after all) and hopefully we can reward your generosity with a wonderful new gaming experience.
I've chosen Pixel Project as the charity that will also benefit from our fund raising. Pixel Project is based in Malaysia, as is Vanishing Point, and aims to reduce violence against women.
