Vanity Apron Program to Help Homeless Elderly Women
Organized by: Joni Head
The Vanity Apron Program, is helping Homeless women who have found themselves to be unemployable. They once were Homeowners. Now have lost there home due to downsizing.
They do not qualify for many of the programs that are offered. Yet are not old enough to receive Social Security. They are being turned away from the shelters. Many have become older, are not skilled with the new technology of the world. So when applying for employment, they are turned down. Going to Senior Employment is difficult because many do not have transportation to get to the Employment Centers.
Some do not have family members to help them, or they are turned away by the very family members that they had once helped.
All they want is a helping hand to get back on there feet.
The Vanity Apron Program will help them, by providing Shelter and Employment. They would be provided with the training that is necessary. If they need transportation they would receive that for free.
This would be helping so many Grandparents and even Great-Grandparents who are not eligible for many of the programs in our community.
