BENEFITING: TENNESSEE BIG FLUFFY DOG RESCUE
We spend our days running all over the South getting dogs out of shelters to save them from euthanasia. We love what we do, but not all of us have a car big enough to stuff a smelly, dirty Saint Bernard into the back of it and if we do, we wish we had a van that could be hosed out. After eight years of existence doing all our rescues in personal cars, we need a cargo van. This became very apparent to us after the April 27 tornadoes when we had to go rescue 35 dogs in one trip. We can attest that it is near to impossible to put 35 traumatized puppies into crates in cars. A cargo van would help us save more dogs and be efficient in doing it. It also allows us to keep the dogs we get out of shelter safe by putting them in crates while they travel from the shelter to the vet or a foster home. We can personally verify that you cannot put a crate big enough for a Saint Bernard in the back of a VW Jetta.
