It is our mission to employ the eccentric variety entertainments of vaudeville to create performance experiences for diverse audiences, especially those in medical and community institutions.
Right now, we're serving five senior centers in the Chicago area with clowning, music, improvisation, juggling - all the vaudeville tools; with your help, we hope to add several more and also a hospital program in 2017.
Here's a true story of Vaudeville Chicago in action:
"A tearful woman came up to us to say thank you. She told us that her friend who is new there, had not smiled or participated in any group activities since his arrival. He is 97, very active, speaks Italian and very angry to be there. 'You changed everything! Look at him!' He was indeed smiling and waving goodbye as he walked with the others into the dining room."
