THE STORY:

The Volunteers of The Burbank Animal Shelter is the 501(c)(3) non-profit arm of the Burbank Animal Shelter. We are devoted to providing medical, social, behavioral and financial care for animals at risk and determined to eliminate animal homelessness in the Burbank, California community.
Each year the volunteers help care for and find homes for the 3,000+ cats, dogs, kittens, bunnies and other animals that arrive at the shelter. In addition to the daily cleaning, feeding, and care, VBAS has designed programs for foster kittens and puppies, barn cat placement, hiking and playtime for dogs, senior pets for senior people and post adoption training for dogs and their new owners.
One of our biggest endeavors is our Medical program. In addition to day to day support, our Medical program funds special surgeries and purchases additional lifesaving medications and equipment. Sick and injured animals arrive at the shelter regularly, and some cases are more complex than what can be treated at the shelter. In these situations the life of a helpless animal is saved by VBAS paying for the animal's extraordinary medical care. A few years ago we raised enough to purchase an X-ray machine. Currently we are saving up to purchase an ultrasound.
Your support can help with vaccines and tests, with setting broken bones, provide emergency care or specialized surgery. Please help us continue to provide life-saving medical treatment and equipment to our Burbank Animal Shelter residents!
