My enitre life I have been passionate about animals. One way I've been able to see what a difference I can make is volunteering at the VBSPCA. The VBSPCA operates soley on donations from people like you and me. The shelter receives no money whatsoever from the Humane Society or ASPCA. Animals are well-cared for, as volunteers help to match them up with their fur-ever homes. We adopted our cat Hobbs from the VBSPCA, and he's the coolest cat in the world, Jack!
Here's what your donation will help support:
*A low-cost medical clinic that provides affordable spay/neuter services and routine veterinary care for qualifying families.
*The "Neuter Scooter," which provides mobile, low-cost spays and neuters to neighboring communities that would otherwise not have access to affordable veterinary services.
*Educational and outreach projects, including in-school reading programs, kid camps, and pet therapy visits to nursing homes.
*The HOPE Program, which provides pet food and discounted veterinary care to qualifying pet owners who risk losing their pets due to economic circumstances.
*The CARE Fund, which helps provide specialized medical treatment for animals who would have once been considered untreatable by many shelters.
*The Temporary Foster Program, which is designed to temporarily house animals for owners while they are living in battered women’s or homeless shelters.
*A Disaster Response Program and fully equipped disaster trailer, which allows the shelter to respond and participate in rescue situations, whether it be a natural disaster or puppy mill raid.
And in particular, the shelter has lost it's food sponsor. That means what was once an unbudgeted item has become a desperate need...food for the animals!
Over the past three years, you've helped us raise close to $7,500 for the VBSPCA. We almost reached our goal of $5,000 last year, and this year we hope to hit that mark. No donation is too small to make a difference. Help spread the word, help us reach our goal. And remember...save a life, adopt from a shelter.
