Event Name: Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund
The recent earthquake in Nepal has affected millions of people across the region. Over 5,000 people have lost their lives and many more are injured and homeless. International aid has been primarily concentrated in Kathmandu, but thousands of families in the remote villages have received no help. VCD is a non profit organization that was established in 2007 by Nepali citizen Bikram Poudel and continues to be run by local Nepalis. Our current goal is to aid the communities that have been the most affected by the earthquake. This means money is needed in the rural poorer villages where homes have been completely destroyed, food is scare, medical attention is needed and sanitation needs have to be addressed. VCD Nepal is currently going to affected rural communities to bring food, medical supplies and other necessities. We receive no funding from the government or corporations and rely on donations to continue our work. Please support our mission to help these communities recover and rebuild their lives. The most affected villages are located in the hills and valleys where roads are often difficult to navigate but this is where the help is most needed and where we are concentrating our efforts. Donating directly to VCD means 100% of your money goes directly to the affected communities and towards current needed supplies and as soon as possible we will need to help these families rebuild their homes that have been destroyed and help their communities recover. All funds raised on this site will be sent directly to VCD Nepal to be used for Earthquake disaster relief and restoration of communities who need it most.
