Facts on youth at social-risk in Santiago, Chile

BENEFITING: VE GLOBAL
After studying Latin American politics all throughout college, I wanted to actually live abroad and make a difference. I've always been very interested in the socio-economic inequality in Chile and wanted to learn more about the educational system. So last year I came to Chile as part of program to teach English at a University. After my program finished in December 2015 and after traveling throughout Patagonia, I came back to Santiago and felt like I wasn't done yet. I wanted to make more of an impact.
Recently, I joined the staff as an intern with VE Global in Santiago. VE works with volunteers to help improve the lives of children at social risk around the city. VE Global is smaller non-profit organization and without the financial support from individuals, our work with children at social risk in Santiago, Chile would not be possible.
I'm fundraising for VE because I know how important their work is and I have already seen the positive impact the work has on the lives of these children. Chile, though more developed than other South American countries, has severe issues in terms of social and educational inequality. The at-risk youth that VE Global works with in Santiago depends on the love and support our volunteers provide as mentors, friends and educators.
I have not been home since February 2015. In lieu of receiving Christmas and birthday gifts, I ask that my family and friends donate to this more-than worthy cause.
Skip that latte for one week, and instead donate $5 to the cause I am so passionate about!
Un gran abrazo,
